I'm wondering what other people use for their infantry line. In the late game i find that spearmen arent holding up too well even with full upgrades, lord skills and 7 or more chevons.
i know both are anti-large and have charge defense, the shields help against arrows but the halbards come with armor piercing. So i'm a bit indecisive as to whether Shielded Spear men or halbardiers are better for holding my foes in place. Personally i like swords and am drawn to Swordsmen but of course they seem fairly limited when it comes to holding the line. I've been playing a lot of Empire campaigns lately, for the most part I've figured out the easiest ways to level my characters and how to gain highly ranked units but i'm a little torn between what the bulk of my infantry should be.
